Conventions:

• The 191 United Nations’ member states are in all CAPS.

• Countries that are not members of the United Nations
(territories, for example) are in small case with initial caps.

• Countries with significant Muslim populations (that is, 10% or more) have been underlined. Please prioritize reaching people in these countries.

• Some web sites are multi-lingual. If it opens in another language, usually their in an obvious link to English. For example, dmoz.org is multi-lingual. It normally takes longer to open and has language choices at the bottom of the opening page.

• Single click the flag under each country name to open a map of that country. In most cases there are further links to web sites that provide general information on that country.

• Single cell tables with a light green background contain explanations excerpted from the United Nations’ listing of Member States. To visit directly please go to http://www.un.org/Overview/unmember.html.

• Single cell tables with a light blue background contain original material.

• The flags, maps and some statistics have been obtained from the World Fact Book developed by the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States.
