Introduction to Site

This site empowers individuals, particularly young people, to reach out to each other with Messages of Peace, written in 21 languages, using the Internet. It also recommends creation of a World Cultural and Learning Center in New York to challenge future generations to enjoy and understand each other’s cultures. The idea started as a letter written to a friend who recommended that it be made public. Links to search engines for every country in the world are provided, as are maps and further information on individual countries. Links are also provided in support of the World Cultural and Learning Center. The concept letter to Mr. Davis and his response are downloadable. They can be shared and forwarded. You are empowered to make a difference.

Through use of the search engines provided in the Country Links, Messages of Peace can be sent to newspapers, radio stations, televisions stations, businesses, government agencies and other organizations throughout the world. Messages of Peace, written in 21 languages, can also be sent to every member of the United Nations through e-mail hyperlinks. Individuals can also e-mail Messages of Peace to every member of the Knesset (Israel’s legislative council), and FAX or e-mail members of the Palestinian Legislative Council to offer support and encouragement for a peaceful resolution of their conflict. One heart beats in all of our chests. It is identical.

A hard copy of these materials, for those not familiar with the Internet, can be obtained through Kinko’s, a company located in the United States. A data CD can also be obtained, which includes most of this web site, in all 21 languages. Although these materials are copyrighted, permission is granted to share them through copying and faxing. The data CD of the site can also be copied and shared. It includes the quotes, as digital images, and the Country Links in a Rich Text Format. The search engines can be brought into your own word processing program and customized to include your own links and contacts. The idea is to spread optimism and hope throughout the world. Enjoying our differences, through tolerance and understanding, is part of the future richness of this world.

The Message of Peace have been placed against a graphic background, unique to each quote, so that a person speaking one language can know what he or she is saying in another language. Web friendly versions of these quotes can be downloaded from this site and used as digital photographs. If you are totally unfamiliar with another language you can send pictures of yourself with your family and friends. The pictures, plus the quotes, will get your point across. We are all connected. We are one world.

Intolerance is ultimately a tribal instinct. It can no longer be of use to us as a world community. Problems are best solved with a spirit of optimism. Optimism is a choice. You can spread optimism to every corner of the planet. Search your own heart and check your determination. One person can make a difference. Believe that.

This is not an evangelical site and should not be mistaken as one. It is a people-to-people site promoting tolerance. It supports the notion that unfettered love must be of God, because there can never be too much of it. It makes no judgment. It is tremendously hopeful and optimistic.

It is promoted by a very private man, who might be described as having the heart of an “uncle”. He cannot sit by and watch young people blow each other up without wincing and wanting to do something to help. He sees no differences in color or creed. Pain is pain. A deplorable loss is a loss no matter where it occurs. Love heals. More love heals even faster.

He also sees intolerance, particularly when it is preached by religious leaders, as diabolical. Terrorism is an extreme and organized expression of perceived injustice. It cannot be addressed by isolating and blaming millions of Muslims in the world. To that extent this site is also fundamentally devoted to reaching out to Muslims with a spirit of friendship and respect. Love heals.

Finally, this site is a broad tool for people to direct their energies wherever there is conflict. Businesses, government agencies, the media and other organizations must ultimately connect to the internet to be part of the modern world. This makes them portals for spreading good will and doing business in a positive way. The great culture of China will have more people on the internet, in the not too distant future, than any country in the world. Receiving messages of good will from young Chinese would be a very thrilling thing, indeed.
