Rererence for Countries
This
reference is provided both as a hard copy and as a digital copy
on the accompanying CD. On the CD email addresses and web sites
have been hyperlinked. The CD version has been saved both as a
RTF file (i.e. a Rich Text File) and as a PDF file (i.e. Portable
Document Format file). Hyperlinks are provided on both.
You
should be able to bring the RTF file into most word processing programs
so that it is editable. This way you will be able to conveniently
save additional web sites and email addresses you find.
The
PDF file is an additional option. You should be able to read it
almost anywhere in the world. It can be opened with Adobe’s
Acrobat Reader, which is a free download from Adobe.com. A copy
of Acrobat Reader can also be installed directly from the CD. Adobe
Acrobat 5.0 or 5.5 is a read/write program that could also be used
to edit this document. This is software you can purchase from Adobe.com.
The links in either instance should work.
This
is primarily a tool for people to use who are comfortable using
the Internet. However, the purpose of providing a hard copy is to
allow those who are not “internet savvy” to also get
involved. Each page can be copied and sent through the mail, along
with your own messages of good will. For those who wish to use the
mail, addresses are provided for all members of the United Nations.
A search at your local library will yield other people you can contact.
Above
all else, you are encouraged to contact (whether via the internet
or by mail) newspapers, radio stations, television stations and
other news media with your own expressions of good will, as well
as the accompanying messages that have been worked out in various
languages. Businesses, travel companies and government agencies
are also good portals for these messages. Finally, contacting people
directly is the most intimate approach.
The
best languages to use, of the 21 languages available, have been
shown country by country. If you speak a language other than the
one(s) recommended, please include that language in your message
of good will. If you wish, you might also send photographs of yourself,
family members and friends. You have been given a selection of messages
so that you can choose one that reflects best on you. Please include
that message in each of the languages suggested so that it reaches
the widest audience. Your own messages and photographs will be understood,
as to their intent, even if they can’t be read.
Trust
your heart in what you do.
It is time to encourage one another across the globe.
You now have a tool you can use to do that.
This
is a tool that any group of people can use to reach out to one another
whenever there is conflict. Americans can reach out to North Koreans.
Australians can reach out to Indonesians. People throughout the
world can reach out to India’s Untouchables. Wherever there
is pain and conflict you can begin the healing process immediately,
now and in the future.
Showing
love and concern can never be outdated.
Leave your cynicism behind. It does not serve you.
Regard those you have never met as your best of friends.
This will work.
A
convention has been followed in presenting the information below
of underlining each country that has a Muslim population of 10%
or more. This is not intended to reduce the significance of anyone
who is NOT a Muslim. However, this world is currently in crisis
because of the false impression that Americans, the English, Australians,
and others just don’t care about their Muslim brothers and
sisters throughout the world. Language and cultural barriers have
allowed this to persist. This tool has been created to dispel this
false and dangerous notion.
Please
use this program to bring an end to hatred and misunderstanding.
Look forward to the day when we can safely travel to each other’s
countries with joy.
Spend a little time each day learning about another country and
reaching out to its citizens.
Involve your children and schools to make this a learning and sharing
experience.
Believe that you have been empowered to make a difference.
An
excerpt from a poem speaks my heart:
Bleed
out!
Let your pain
go out.
Bleed out!
Let your HATE
run out.
Let forgiveness
overtake
you
and
love fill in.
Feel
love. Stop shooting!
And,
we,
poor fools
on planet earth,
is it possible
we could
NOW
give birth
to another way
to enjoy
our company?
Face
your problems. Your Problems!
Oh,
yes! Turn around.
And, take good heart
that we
can make
another start:
And,
see..
that thoughts
of DIVISION
give
rise
to DERISION.
And,
now,
it is time to
Stop. Stop. Stop!
How
else
could
God
be
Here? Here.
Here!
Get
together
and
try to Understand.
Enjoy each other.
Take your
brother’s hand.
Stop killing.
You spill the blood
of those
you could love.
It’s
time, now!
Start
walking
toward
each other.
Weren’t we asked
to love one another?
It’s the hardest
thing to do,
with
the best result.
